Growing Pains and Vanity Foul

In Growing pains the tone is very harsh and goes directly to the bone. It doesn’t put fingers between when it describes how teenagers should be careful with how they treat themselves. The article is split up in three, a part where it argues for and against teenage piercing and finally a verdict. This gives a very clear break down and the language is very repulsive. Growing pains is written from two different views whereas the author of the Vanity foul article is giving a very strong opinion about plastic surgery and how it affects our everyday life. The language is not as personal, but more informative. The tone is normal but still with very strong opinions. Both articles don’t keep the reader in any doubt what side of the discussion they should be on. The language and vocabulary are of very high standard and they both highlight all the aspect of each topic in a way that means it is very convincing reading.
